Did you know...

  • The name Ang Mo Kio can also be interpreted as "Red Hair Bridge". The "Red Hair" refers to one Lady Jennifer Windsor, who is related to a crossing that went across the Pierce Reservoir. Following the drowning of her two sons and the disappearance of her daughter Angela around this area, she (as well as other locals) began to hear the cries of a young girl around the crossing. As a result, until she died the Lady Windsor would be by the bridge day after day. Locals who saw her constantly knitting or reading by the bridge eventually referred to the crossing as "Red Hair Bridge".

  • Block 524 on Ang Mo Kio Street 52 is known for its many awards in cleanliness and neighbourhood friendliness amongst the residents.
